Plaisance Secondary blew out School of the Nations’ 100-21 in the U19 division when the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) ‘Regional Conference’ continued on Friday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
Andrew Johnson led the way in the historic result with 29 points, six rebounds and five assists while Jared Sears provided able support with 26 points, nine rebounds.
They were assisted by Shamar Payne, who registered 18 points and five assists, while Nigel Bowen accumulated a triple-double of 15 points, 16 rebounds and 13 steals.
Corey Graham scored eight points for the losing team. In the second match of the section, St. Rose’s High edged Government Technical Institute 37-35.
Kwesi Roberts led the victors with 18 points while Anthony Yansen added seven points and six rebounds. For the loser, Anton Fileen scored a game-high 20 points.
In the girls division, Tutorial High crushed School of the Nations’ 26-5. Afeisha Brutus tallied 12 points while Joella Serieux added six points. For the losing team, Teromattie Dyal netted three points.
Similarly, Marian Academy blanked Bladen Hall 24-0. Jada Mohan top scored in the rout with eight points.
In the U16 section, Chase Academy crushed Plaisance Secondary 44-15. Stephen DeLeon top scored with 26 points and seven steals while Omary Kewley chipped in with five points.
For the losing team, Ishmael Chapman tallied a double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds.
