Jacques Archibald scored three tries as the Panthers mauled the Police Falcons 32-5 when the Bounty Farm 15s League continued yesterday at the National Park.
The loose head prop scored one of his side’s two-first half tries then two after halftime to seal the victory for Coach Laurie Adonis’ outfit.
A first half try by Godfrey Broomes along with a try apiece from captain, Rondel McArthur and Lloyd Anderson underlined the Panthers’ dominance over the Falcons. A Broomes conversion also added further gloss to the score line.
Leading 10-0 at the half, the Panthers struck twice in quick succession when Archibald came out of a ruck with the ball at midfield, made a pair of quick moves and was gone untouched to the house to put his team up 20-nil. Broomes then promptly buried a conversion on Archibald’s final try.
The Falcons pushed back, as they worked the ball along the Panthers’ goal line before finally punching through, cutting the lead to 22-5. But that is all the Panthers’ saran-wrap defence allowed.
McArthur and Anderson then bulldozed their way and breached the defenses of the Policemen to complete the 32-5 victory.
The Bounty Farm 15’s champion will be crowned when League culminates this weekend at the same venue.
