Former murder accused Kevin France was yesterday cleared of two robbery charges after a city magistrate found that the police failed to prove their case against him.
France was on trial before Magistrate Leron Daly.
It was alleged that on October 1st, 2017, at Robb and Alexander streets, France, while being in the company of another and armed with a gun, robbed Boodnarine Budhu of $800,000 in cash. It was also alleged that France, while in the company of others and armed with a gun, robbed Bibi Jabar of $6,000 on October 12th, 2017, at Church Street.
Magistrate Daly told France that the charges against him were dismissed for a lack of evidence.
A few months ago, France along with his co-accused, Jason Howard, were committed to stand trial for the attempted murder of Quacy Joseph, who was shot in his abdomen after he attempted to foil a robbery committed on a man who was relieved of $1.2 million in the Electronics City branch in the Fogarty’s building on Water Street.
France was one of the two men accused of killing Patsan Trading salesman Bharrat Ramcharan during a robbery in 2014 but that charge was dismissed in August of 2015.
