Defensive swerve: This open back pickup slid off the road at Buxton on the Railway embankment on Saturday afternoon after it swerved from a vehicle that was travelling in its path, the driver said. The driver of the vehicle told Stabroek News that a car heading east on the northern carriageway was travelling at a fast rate and was in his lane on the opposite side of the road. He said there was nothing he could have done and he swerved over into the opposite lane and skidded off the road.
