Clean-up at Diamond well eruption underway

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure (MOPI) has started the clean-up exercise at the residence at Fifth and Sixth Avenue, Diamond, East Bank Demerara, where a resident had dug a well, resulting in an eruption of mud, water, methane gas and damage to several homes in the area.

Dear Editor, A packed house at the Guyana High Commission on  Thursday – significantly the first anniversary of the Grenfell tragedy turned out to hear that great contemporary Guyanese David Lammy the MP for Tottenham and increasingly for the Caribbean speak eloquently on Grenfell-where he lost a close friend, the Windrush Generation debacle which showed the British Government in frankly a racist light, his ‘Guyaneseness’ (he is a joint passport holder and frequent visitor), his Christian Socialism and much more.
