A 45-year-old Craig mother of three has found herself accused of demanding money from a man by pretending she was a police officer.
The charge against Natasha Singh, of 52 Old Road, Craig, East Bank Demerara, alleges that on June 18th, at Georgetown, she demanded with menace the sum of $200,000 from Mohammed Yusuf with intent to steal.
Singh denied the allegation.
Singh had allegedly threatened to arrest Singh after identifying herself as a police officer. The woman allegedly went to the complainant’s home and demanded money, which he told her he did not have.
Her attorney, Everton Singh-Lammy, told the court that his client is a single mother after being widowed last year.
Magistrate Leron Daly placed the woman on $60,000 bail and adjourned the matter until July 20th.
