One day after winning the Time-Trial championship, Fraser-Green easily added the female National Road Race Trophy to her collection.Undaunted by the intermittent showers yesterday Fraser-Green, bested Shenika Texeira and Abigail Jeffrey to earn her sixth national road race title after winning her sixth successive time-trial title on Saturday.
In the 53-mile race from Homestretch Avenue to Timehri’s bottleneck and back, Fraser-Green stopped the clock in two hours, 46 minutes and 14 seconds, miles ahead of Teixeira and Jeffrey (3h:20:21s) who crossed the line together.
In the male side of things, Warren ’40’ McKay had the perfect post Father’s Day gift when he crossed the line in pole to take the spoils of the veteran category ahead of Nigel London and a game Mark Spencer.
For the grueling 85-mile trek from Homestretch Avenue to Long Creek on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway and back, the father of 10 recorded a winning time of three hours and 51 minutes as did junior champion, Brighton John.
The big boys will saddle up on Sunday on the same route also from 07:30hrs, however, they will proceed to Moblissa on the Linden Highway.
Time-Trial and road race champion, Raynauth Jeffrey is expected to be tested by standout riders like Shaquel Agard, Paul DeNobrega, Andrew Hicks, Hamza Eastman, Jamal John, Romello Crawford and Alonzo Ambrose.
