Callistemon Subulatus is commonly called ‘Dwarf Bottle Brush’ and originated in Australia.
In 1789, this tree was introduced by Joseph Banks to Kew Gardens and it has adapted well in the Caribbean and in Florida.
The look of this small tree’s flowers explains its common name. This attractive and compact form of Callistemon is a low-maintenance tree.
It only grows to around 3 ft in height and displays its beautiful red bottlebrush blooms, which tend to be about just over 2 inches.
This Callistemon grows well alongside pathways or as a shrub or border. It can also make an excellent large tub plant on patios.
Plant in well-drained soil and make sure you give it a good drink of water daily,
