Cabinet has noted the award of several multi-million dollar contracts for the procurement of vehicles, equipment and furniture and the rehabilitation/construction of two roads in Linden.
Minister of State Joseph Harmon made this announcement during a post -Cabinet press briefing held on Thursday at the Ministry of the Presidency.
Under the Ministry Public Infrastructure, he said the roadway at Montgomery Oval, Richmond Hill will be rehabilitated by R and B Investment Incorporated at a cost of $37,343,500 while similar works will be done to Hospital road, (Phase I) Wismar by R and B Investment Incorporated at a cost of $36,034,700.
He said that under the Ministry of Agriculture, a $68.8M contract has been awarded to H. Nauth and Sons Civil Engineering for the procurement of two new dump trucks.
According to Harmon under the Ministry of Public Telecommunications, a US$72,527 contract has been awarded to PAT Systems for the procurement of one used Ford bucket truck.
Under the Ministry of Social Protection contracts have been awarded for the procurement of furniture and equipment, ICT equipment and vehicles. In giving the breakdown Harmon said that the Hardware Depot has been awarded a contract worth $4,095,000 and Laparkan Trading Guyana Company Limited, a contract for $2,460,291 for the supply of furniture and equipment. Laparkan was also awarded a $364,800 contract and Massy Technologies Guyana Limited, a $6.5M contract for the supply of ICT equipment. Car Clean Enterprise has been awarded a $15M contract for the supply of vehicles.
Harmon added that under the Guyana Revenue Authority, Vizor Limited has been awarded a US$200,000 contract for the procurement of Vizor AEOI Software. Meanwhile, under the Ministry of Agriculture, a $23.4M contract has been awarded to S and K Construction Services for the installation of a 700-metre brushwood dam along the foreshore of Columbia to Aberdeen, Essequibo Coast, Pomeroon-Supenaam (Region Two).
