Young table tennis ace Miguel Wong and Nickolus Romain are Guyana’s representative at the 2018 Pan-American Junior Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The duo, who are both 17-years of age, will patriciate in the doubles and singles event in their quest to lift the junior Pan-American Cup.
While the draws for the doubles category have not yet been determined, the International Table Tennis Federation’s website has indicated that Wong will play against Rodrigo Hidalgo of Peru, Nicholas Tio of the United States and Hiram Morillo of the Dominican Republic in the singles competition.
Romain, on the other hand, will compete against Daniel Araya of Costa Rica, Francisco Matias of Peru, and Aibit Tejada of the Dominican Republic.
The world governing body of the sport also indicated that the top two players from each group will advance to the main draw with matches being decided from the best of five games and best of seven from the main draw. Singles competition will serve off Friday.
