Trinidad and Tobago will be sending a team of 12 boxers and six officials to the Caribbean School Boys and Juniors Tournament scheduled from August 17-19.
That should be the largest foreign contingent invading the shores of the 592 for the event which will be staged at the National Gymnasium.
This is according to President of the Guyana Boxing Association, Steve Ninvalle.
Ninvalle said the team will comprise of four females which are being trained by former female World Champion, Ria Ramnarine.
The GBA head stated that he had a meeting with Ramnarine concerning the contingent and he noted that “Trinidad has a good program and like us they are placing a lot of emphasis on the nursery.”
Meanwhile, confirmed so far to attend the third annual tournament is Jamaica, St Lucia, Cayman Islands and Grenada.
Antigua, Barbados, The US Virgin Islands, Bahamas and Suriname are still to confirm their participation at the international fixture.
