Chase Academy and South Ruimveldt secured spots in the finals of the boys and girls’ divisions following semi-final wins in the ExxonMobil U14 football championships at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Chase Academy defeated Buxton 3-1 with goals from Jaleel Alendar, Leivin Mullin and Brandon Solomon in the fifth, 12th and 34th minute respectively.
Tyrice Dennis netted Buxton’s consolation goal in the in the sixth minute.
Chase Academy will oppose North Ruimveldt in the boy’s final on Saturday.
In the girls’ semi-final, South Ruimveldt whipped East Ruimveldt 9-1 with Amanda Mackenzie
and Analisa Redman scoring hat tricks.
Mackenzie netted in the 22nd, 30th and 35th minute while Redman’s goals came in the 28th, 32nd and 40th minute.
Adding a brace in the 16th and 33rd minute was Latesha Sunderland while Angel Denny netted in the 19th minute.
For East Ruimveldt, Tamara Mendonca etcher her name on the scorer’s sheet in the 12th minute. South Ruimveldt will battle Charlestown in the championship match.
