On Sunday on August 5, the Police Officers Mess Hall will come alive with the sixth annual Emancipation Jazz and Soul Concert hosted by Ssignal Productions, which will see some of the finest in music.
The aim of the concert is to bring back the dying art of Jazz which seems to be quickly fading, Charmaine Blackman of Ssignal said.
The affair seeks to promote Guyana artistes in soul and jazz at their best and will also feature some of the best out of Trinidad and Nigeria.
Those present will have the delight of hearing melodious sounds from saxophonist Courtney Fadlin, Nigerian Guitarist Kelvin Ikpeni and Trinidadian Trumpeter Rellon Brown backed by the Quick Pick Band. Also performing will be Charmaine Blackman, Bonny Alves, Dawn Edwards, Sean Bhola, Dorian Obermueller, Delisha Wright, Devon Denny, Ego, saxophonist Roy Stewart, Keith Campbell, Aubrey ‘Fingers’ Roberts and other musicians from the Police Band.
The concert comes to Guyana with the compliments of Ming’s Products and Services Ltd, Janico Industrial Engineering Inc, Sankar Auto Works, KP Project Management, Colours Boutique, Office of the Prime Minister, Department of Culture, Eureka Medical Laboratories Inc, Cummings Electrical and Jai Signs and Auto Designs.
