The Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown wishes to advise all property owners that the Council has extended the amnesty on interest on rates to Friday, 24 August 2018. This is due to the overwhelming response of some citizens to the offer. The Council had announced a one-day amnesty on interest on rates on Tuesday, 21 August 2018.
This extension provided gives the opportunity to other rate payers access the facility. The finance Committee of Council decided that in honour of City Week celebrations Amnesty Day should be a part of the planned activities. The City week celebrations commenced on Sunday, August 19, 2019 with a Church service at St George’s Cathedral under the theme “Gratitude and Celebration.
