Republic Bank Nets defeated Plaisance Guardians 68-61 in their first division clash when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association [GABA] League continued on Thursday at the Burnham Basketball Court, Middle and Carmichael Streets.
Veteran sharpshooter Hodyah Stewart top scored with 17 points while the next best scorer with 15 points was Joel Ifill.
Pelham Doris added 13 points and Florida Memorial University alumni Shaquille Harden netted 12 points.
For Plaisance Guardians, Nikkoloi Smith recorded the game-high 29 points while Anton Fileen and Malcolm Powdar added 15 and 10 points respectively.
Meanwhile, Plaisance Guardians grounded Eagles 80-71 in their second division clash. Terrence Daniels top scored in the victory with 23 points.
He was assisted by the duo of Nigel Bowen and Jared Sears, who scored 18 and 16 points respectively. Supporting with seven points was Moses Matthews.
For Eagles, Sherland Gillis recorded 18 points while Kheon Evans followed closely with 16 points. Samesh Danram, Lyndon Williams and Nickosie Allicock contributed nine, eight and eight points respectively.
The event continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of matches.
