Last year’s losing finalist the Guyana Police Force [GPF], will battle Pouderoyen FC in the final of the Limacol Football Championship, following semi-final wins on Sunday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
The lawmen arrested Mocha based outfit Riddim Squad 1-0. Anthio Wallace fired the warning shot in the 55th minute, uncorking a powerful effort from 28 yards out, which sailed into the back of the net.
Similarly, Pouderoyen needled Santos 1-0. In what was a rematch of the earlier group fixture [which Santos won 2-1], Amoniki Buntin ensured the West Demerara outfit sealed their maiden appearance in the event’s finale, compliments of an 81st minute conversion.
The lanky centrehalf, delivered a powerful and precise header from inside the right of the box, into the top left corner, after latching onto a left side cross from a freekick.
The aforementioned winners will now faceoff on Friday October 5th at the same venue for title from 20:00hrs. The two losing semi-finalists will open the night’s proceedings with the third place playoff.
