Director of Sports Christopher Jones has joined the long list of persons to laud the efforts of Guyana’s national table tennis players who recently produced one of Guyana’s best showing at the Caribbean level, at the 60th edition of the Caribbean Table Tennis Federation (CTTF) Senior Championships in Jamaica.
Jones, in a statement released by the National Sports Commission (NSC), singled out the efforts of Chelsea Edghill and Shemar Britton who both copped individual gold in the female and male under – 21 category.
Additionally, the efforts of national men’s champion Christopher Franklin, along with Trenace Lowe and Edghill, who reached the semi-final of the senior singles event were also highlighted.

“The National Sports Commission (NSC), and by extension the Director of Sports, Christopher Jones, is delighted with the performances of Guyana’s Table Tennis Contingent which participated at the just-concluded 60th edition of the Caribbean Table Tennis Federation (CTTF) Senior Championships in Jamaica.
The commission wishes to make special mention of the stellar efforts by Shemar Britton and Chelsea Edghill who captured individual gold in the male and female Under – 21 category. We recognize the significance of your achievements at the Caribbean level.
“The spirited performances of Christopher Franklin, Trenace Lowe and Edghill in senior events were also well documented.
“To the other delegation members Nigel Bryan, Joel Alleyne, Natalie Cummings and Priscilla Greaves, who also represented Guyana with high honour, we thank you for your service and be reminded that the National Sports Commission remains committed to the development of sports in Guyana.”
