A contract has been awarded to The Partnership for Supply Chain Management for the supply and delivery of anti-retroviral drugs for the National AIDS Programme Secretariat, according to the Ministry of the Presidency.
The contract, which is valued US$434,457.72 (equivalent to $90,507,161) and was awarded under the Ministry of Public Health, was among six contract awards that were noted by Cabinet at its October 2nd Sub-Committee meeting.
In a statement issued last Saturday, the ministry explained that the contracts were awarded by the procurement entities and the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB).
It also noted that the contract awarded to Associated Construction Services for the rehabilitation/construction of urban roads in Region Ten (Upper Demerara-Berbice) has been varied from $21,496,200 to $28,623,350, an increase of $7,127,150.
In addition to the Associated Construction Services road contract, two other contract awards under the Ministry of Public Infrastructure were noted.
Toolsie Persaud Quarries Incorporated was awarded a $48.1 million contract for the supply of 3,000 cubic meters of crushed gravel aggregate, while an additional allocation of C$446,850, for the implementation of a management strengthening programme with the Guyana Power and Light Incorporated (GPL) Power Utility Upgrade Programme was given to Manitoba Hydro International Limited.
Additionally, the statement noted that under the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority, Leguan, in Region Three, a $9.1 million contract has been awarded to the Leguan Neighbourhood Democratic Council for manual monthly maintenance cleaning of drainage and irrigation channels from July to December, 2018.
Further, under the Guyana Police Force (Ministry of Public Security), a $20.6 million contract has been awarded to the Guyana National Industrial Company Limited (GNIC) for the repairs to the MV Tamakay barge.
