Team Family, Dream Team, Hard-ball and Church Boys secured lopsided wins, when the GT Beer-sponsored ‘Ballerz Entertainment’ Soft Shoe Football Championship continued on Sunday.
Rising star Kevin Agard tallied a hat-trick at the Mocha Community Centre ground, as Team Family overwhelmed Top Strikers 7-1. Agard tallied his strikes in the ninth, 18th and 23rd minute.
He was assisted by Shamar Jones, scorer of a double in the 15th and 21st minute, while Rondel Smith and Teon Jones netted in the 14th and 29th minute correspondingly.
On the other side, Darius Trumble scored in the 29th minute.
Similarly, Dream Team dismantled Cricketers 5-0. Kester Alleyne tallied a brace in the ninth and 33rd minute, while Orville Stewart, Dellon John and Dorville Stewart scored in the first, fifth and seventh minute respectively.
Meanwhile, Church Boys downed Ninja Clad 5-3. For the Church Boys, Alvin DeMattos bagged a double in the 2nd and 15th minute, while Eric Sampson tallied a double in the 11th and 14th minute. Adding a goal in the 12th minute was Nectar Prince. For the loser, Adonie Rutherford recorded a brace in the ninth and 14th minute, while Kester Stewart found the back of the net in the 13th minute.
Also, Hardball battled past Front Side Warriors 3-1. Matthew Robinson, Jermaine James and Pernell Gordon etched their name on the scorer’s sheet in the eighth, 10th and 13th minute respectively.
For the loser, Orin James netted in the 25th minute.
The winner of the tournament will pocket $100,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up and third place finisher will receive $50,000 and $25,000 respectively, and the corresponding accolade.
The tournament, which is being played in an initial round-robin format, will continue tomorrow at the same venue.
