Kobras and Pepsi Sonics secured wins in the first and second divisions respectively when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association [GABA] League Championships continued on Thursday.
Kobras downed Nets 74-67 at the Burnham Court, Middle and Carmichael Streets. Garfield Grenville led the way with 15 points while Trevor Smith and Mark Richards contributed 14 and 12 points respectively.
Assisting were Carlos Edwards, Marvin Durant and Kevin Evans, with eight points each. On the other side, Sheldon Hanes top scored with a game-high 21 points.
Pelham Doris was the next best scorer with 16 points while Hodyah Stewart, Fabian Johnson and Antwoine Austin netted eight, eight and six points respectively.
Meanwhile, Pepsi Sonics crushed Vikings 72-39. Darren Vanderstoop recorded a game-high 20 points in the rout with Troy Glasgow the second best scorer with 11 points.
Chipping in with eight, six and five points each were Lemuel Grant, Terrence Audain and Keron Vyphius respectively.
For the Vikings, Mortimer Dey tallied an impressive 19 points with next best scorers with six and four points respectively being Jeffrey Wilkinson and George Easton.
