In the second round of the Enmore Community Centre Cricket Club Banks Beer 100-ball bash, West Indies Under-19 batsman, Bhaskar Yadram clobbered the second century of the tournament to see Enterprise record a 130-run win over La Bonne Intention on Sunday.
Yadram predominantly played grounded shots and worked the fielding well, stroking 17 fours.
Former West Indies opener, Rajendra Chandrika was a mere spectator at the end but still scored 54 with three boundaries as they raced to 177 without loss. In reply, LBI were subdued, ending on 47-8 with the balls running out.
Yadram’s older brother, Kamesh, took 3-8 while R. Pooran took 3-11.
Only R. Ramkellawan managed 18.
In the other matches, Golden Achievers defeated Lusignan East by 34 runs. Golden Achievers batted first posting 136-7 with K. Roberts and S. Burgess scoring 30 and 31 respectively. That proved enough to win the contest with Lusignan East bowing out for 102. N. Balram, batting at Number 10, top scored with 20.
D. Cummings (3-22), Roberts (2-17) and M. Franklin (2-34) were the wicket takers.
Fairfield beat Helena 1 and 2 by 64 runs. Batting first, Fairfield made 191-7 from their quota with Ramnarine Chatura scoring an 18-ball 30.
Richard Chatura then smashed seven sixes on his way to 80 from 33 balls while Wazim Mustapha pounded 59 from just 25 balls. However, the carnage was kept under control with S. Sattaur taking 4-31. In the chase, Helena were outfoxed as only D. Singh (49) and O. Gopaul (40) showed any resistance.
Fairfield recorded their second win of the day, beating Strathavon by 41 runs. Fairfield took first strike and made 124 all out with Mustapha top scoring with 42. Randy Hemraj bagged 3-16, all of which were stumpings while Kevin Latif also took three wickets. Strathavon were all out in 77 deliveries for 85 as M. Shaw took 4-15.
Bee Hive got the better of Helena in a 19-run win. Bee Hive took first strike posting 139-4 from their allotted overs with N. Ragnauth hitting 62 including 10 fours and one six while being supported by H. Samlall with 46 (five fours and two sixes). Helena were kept to 120-8 with the balls running out with D. Singh being the principal scorer with 35.
Bee Hive however lost to Mahaica by five wickets. Bee Hive posted 108 with R. Ragnauth top scoring with 51. Mahaica raced to the target with eight balls to spare. The top three of N. Baniswari (36), A. Persaud (20) and S. Chumandath (28) were the principal scorers.
Unstoppable were halted by Mahaica Cavaliers in a 77 run loss. Mahaica raced to 176-8 with Nandram Persaud and Prakash Chowtie scoring 47 and 31 respectively while Unstoppable were confined to 99-5. Junior Caesar took 3-12.
