(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) A socially displaced man appeared before the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court on Monday, after being charged with attacking another socially displaced man who was awaiting a complimentary meal from a church.
Dillon Ramsey, 33, of no fixed place of abode, was charged with wounding with intent, by officers of San Fernando Police Station, following the incident which took place around 8.30 a.m. on Sunday, near the Methodist church along Harris Promenade, San Fernando.
While awaiting a meal, the 57-year-old victim was accosted by the male suspect, who proceeded to beat him about the body and slash his forehead with a knife.
The victim was taken to San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.
Ramsey was later arrested and charged with the offence on the same date by PC James, of the San Fernando Criminal Investigations Department.
