A Rose Hall, Corentyne moneychanger has been missing since Friday and his family is seeking the public’s help to find him.
A missing report has been filed at the Rose Hall Outpost for Anil Kumar Sukraj, 28, who was last seen on Friday midday in the Albion area wearing a blue shirt, grey short pants and slippers. His family launched a search for him yesterday but up to press time he had not been located. According to information gathered, Sukraj left home around 7.30 am on Friday to head to work at the Rose Hall Arch. He, his father and brother are known money changers in Rose Hall.
This publication was told that around Friday midday Sukraj was seen boarding a hire car from Rose Hall, Corentyne.
He was reportedly dropped in front of a store at Albion, Corentyne. However, sources said that he did not enter the store but instead took another car to Fyrish, Corentyne. According to information gathered, the missing man was on his phone telling someone to pick him up while in the hire car.
Sources close to the investigation explained that a hire car driver saw the missing man and another hire car driver, who is his friend, at the KK Service Station, at Mahaica on Friday.
This publication was told that up to last evening, Sukraj’s relatives were trying to access surveillance footage from the gas station.
Meanwhile, the source further revealed that the friend who was spotted with the now missing man yesterday denied dropping him off anywhere.
Additionally, this publication was informed that several years ago the now missing man had left home without telling anyone and only returned several days later.
Sukraj has been robbed four times and was even shot once.
