A second wanted bulletin was yesterday issued by police for Elon Azore, called ‘Fudgee’, who is said to be the prime suspect in the 2008 murder of Dennis Richards.
According to the bulletin, Azore’s date of birth is September 3rd, 1965, and his last known address was Lot 227 Main Road, Melanie Damishana, East Coast Demerara (ECD). The murder was committed on August 7th, 2008.
A similar bulletin was issued in November, 2011 but yielded no success. Hence, another was issued.
Reports are that the deceased, Richards, had been called out of his home on the fateful night, given a sound beating by four men, and eventually died at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
At the time, the 19-year-old was residing at 37 Enterprise Gardens, ECD. Police, in a statement then, had said that the man was allegedly beaten about his body with pieces of wood by four men at neighbouring Melanie.
His brother-in-law, Stephen Rodrigues, had told this newspaper that Richards had returned from Port Kaituma three weeks earlier and had gone home at about 9 pm. He said shortly after, he heard some male voices call out to Richards and he left home in the company of some boys who Stephen said he did not know.
He said that it was about half hour after Richards left that one of his friends came and informed them that he was in an abandoned house a stone’s throw away and looked as though he had suffered a sound beating.
“He friend come and he tell we that he get beat up and he over in the house and I went over and I hold he up and we bring he over and he wasn’t talking so we couldn’t get from he is what happen or is who beat him but he was bleeding through his ears,” Rodrigues related.
He said the friend who had brought the news was questioned and told relatives that he saw Richards being hit across his face with a piece of wood, and even though he saw when the lash was dealt, he did not know the assailant.
The bulletin for Azore comes on the heels of another which was issued the previous day for Leon De Yonge, who is also wanted for murder.
This was the third wanted bulletin issued for DeYonge, whose address is unknown. The previous bulletins were issued in 2014 and 2016.
De Yonge is wanted by the police for questioning in relation to the murder of Titus Sutton at Baracara, Canje Creek on November 8, 2013.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the two men are asked to contact the nearest police station.
