(Trinidad Express) An 18-year-old playing with a gun accidentally shot himself in the head on Saturday.
The man, of Gill Trace, Lamont Street, Longdenville, was with someone else plying with the firearm when it discharged.
The bullet struck the victim in the left eye, and lodged in his head behind the left ear.
He was taken to the Chaguanas Health Centre, stabilized and transferred to the Mt Hope Hospital.
Police say an operation is being planned to remove the left eye which was destroyed by the bullet and bone fragments.
Corporal Phillips and Constable Bhajan of the Chaguanas CID are investigating the case.
