A blistering half century from Guyana Jaguars’ Romario Shepherd followed by Guyana Under- 17 seamer, Leon Swamy’s maiden six-wicket haul steered Tucber Park to a 123-run over West Berbice at Bush Lot in the Berbice Cricket Board Pepsi 50 overs first division tournament over the weekend.
Tucber raced to 188 all out in 43.4 overs and reduced West Berbice to 65 all out in 21.2 overs after the match was reduced to 45 overs due to preparation moisture.
Batting first, Tucber Park were reduced to 28-4 as Guyana seamer, Keon Joseph accounted for Malcolm Mickle and Steve Deonarine.
Shepherd came to the crease and pummelled 10 fours and three sixes during his innings of 88, sharing in stands of 49 and 43 for the fifth and sixth wickets. Nial Smith supported with 20 coming in at number nine.
Joseph, K. Ramoo, Andrew Dutchin, Steffon Adams and S. McPherson picked up two wickets each.
In reply, Swamy ripped through the batting order to finish with 6-16 from nine overs while Kwesi Mickle picked up 3-10 from 5.2 overs.
Quacy McPherson and C. Bissoon scored 15 each.
In the other matches, Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets defeated Port Mourant by 102 runs at Area H Ground
Port Mourant beat Upper Corentyne by 150 runs at the No. 70 ground and Young Warriors hammered Blairmont by 60 runs at Cumberland.
