It is time the Guyanese public know what is happening to their President

Dear Editor,

President Granger is in Cuba for an unknown diagnosis he described as “symptoms.”

We were informed in May that he had a clinical checkup by his doctor, of more than 12 years, in Trinidad. Many were critical of this decision to go to Trinidad including yours truly.

This decision was defended by saying that the doctor in Trinidad he knew for over 12 years and did not wish to change.

That’s sounds reasonable. A patient-doctor relationship can be very strong.

Recently Mr. Granger went again to Trinidad to investigate “symptoms.” Tests in Trinidad confirmed these “symptoms”. On  return he looked quite thin bordering on cachexic. Somewhat gaunt I may add.

Last week he went to Cuba to investigate these “symptoms” which were confirmed in Trinidad.

I have a few questions.

1. Why change a doctor he was reluctant to change?

2. Why Cuba? The healthcare in Trinidad is better than that of Cuba.

I think it is time that the Guyanese public know what is happening to their President. A very popular man. A well respected and loved man.

Yours faithfully,
