Trinidad: Two men in custody after car chase and shootout

(Trinidad Guardian) Two men are in po­lice cus­tody af­ter a car chase and shootout in Trinci­ty on Mon­day.

Arou­ca po­lice re­ceived a re­port of rob­bery along St Michael Road, Tacarigua at around 2 pm, where three armed men re­port­ed­ly robbed a man, be­fore es­cap­ing in a ve­hi­cle.

Of­fi­cers on pa­trol spot­ted the ve­hi­cle and pursed.

The chase end­ed at the in­ter­sec­tion of Cassle­ton Av­enue and the Pri­or­i­ty Bus Route, where the men shoot at the po­lice.

Po­lice held two of the men and are search­ing for the es­capee.

The men were tak­en to the near­by Arou­ca Po­lice sta­tion for ques­tion­ing.
