A man who was apprehended by a public-spirited citizen after allegedly robbing a woman of her cellphone, appeared in a city court on Wednesday and was granted $50,000 bail.
It was alleged that on November 16, at Avenue of the Republic, 19-year-old Anthony Bartholomew robbed Annalisa Kumar of her Samsung cellphone valued $68,000 and sometime before, during or after the incident, used personal violence against her.
Bartholomew pleaded not guilty to the charge, which was read against him in the city Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
Bartholomew was placed on $50,000 bail and ordered to return to court on December 12, for his next hearing.
