Brewery clinched the Banks DIH Limited Inter-Department 5-aside Football Championship, defeating Trisco on Thursday at the Thirst Park ground.
Scoreless at the end of regulation time, Brewery secured the coveted title, defeating the highly favoured Trisco outfit 2-0 on penalty kicks.
With the win, Brewery walked away with the championship trophy and medals. On the other hand, the loser pocketed the runner-up trophy and the respective accolade. In the earlier third place playoff, Central Service crushed Berbice Branch by a 2-0 scoreline. For the win, Central Service copped the third place trophy and medals.
In the initial semi-final round, Brewery squeaked past Central Service 2-1, while Trisco needled Berbice Branch 1-0 on penalty kicks, after regulation timed ended scoreless.
