Minister of Public Affairs, Dawn Hastings-Williams, on Friday, declared open the annual Upper Mazaruni District Youth Congress, a release from the Ministry of the Presidency said yesterday.
During the opening ceremony, Hastings-Williams handed over sound and musical equipment as well as sports gear to the youth on behalf of President David Granger. She told the participants that the provision of equipment is a manifestation of the government’s commitment to the development of the nation’s youth.
“I ask that you use it [the equipment] … may you use it to pass on the gospel to your community,” she said.
The three-day event at Kako Village, Cuyuni-Mazaruni (Region Seven) aimed at allowing Adventist youth to collectively fellowship, assess performance and to be part of fun activities, is being hosted by the Guyana Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
