Minibus conductor Asahel Williams, who was charged in September with raping a 14-year-old girl, was on Monday committed to stand trial.
Williams is accused of engaging in sexual activity with a child under the age of 17 on October 7th, 2015, at Plum Park, Sophia.
At the conclusion of the Preliminary Inquiry into the charge on Monday, he learnt from Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman that there was sufficient evidence to have him stand trial at the High Court for the matter.
Williams, who was granted $300,000 bail during his first court appearance, will remain out on bail until his trial begins at the High Court.
A second person, Sherwayne Brandt, a bus driver, is also before the court for the same matter.
