(Trinidad Express) A fifty-one-year-old nephew of murdered United States retiree, Yvonne Trumpet-Nicholson is expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate today charged with, “various sexual offences.”
Police said the suspect, David Trumpet, who lives at Mohammed Street, St Augustine, was detained last week (November 23) after he appeared before a Tunapuna Magistrate on another sexual offence charge.
His aunt, United States resident Trumpet-Nicholson, 74, was found dead near to the T&T Regiment barracks at Cumuto on November 19.
Her family, who also live in the United States, travelled to Trinidad from New York after they could not get in touch with her when she arrived at Piarco.
They said they had not been able to reach her since she arrived in Trinidad on November 13.
In a missing person’s statement, the Police Service said Trumpet-Nicholson was last seen in St James on November 14.
Her family said they believed she had not gone to that area.
Speaking with relatives about an hour ago they said that a memorial service is going to be held for her in Arima on Friday November 30.
Nicholson’s relative said: “Family, friends and loved ones are invited to Yvonne Trumpet-Nicholson’s better known as “Eve” memorial service tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Bethel World Outreach Ministry located at 1 Bethel Avenue, Arima.
