Defending champs South Ruimveldt march to semis

Defending champion South Ruimveldt as well as the West Ruimveldt, St Pius and North Georgetown teams clinched their semi-final berths when the Smalta Girls Pee Wee Football Championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

The holders downed Enterprise 4-2. Fayon Harry recorded a hat-trick in the sixth, 20th and 40th+1 minute, while Shakira Barker added a goal in the 23rd minute.

For the loser, Alecia Beaton and Denita Auden found the back of the net in the third and 36th minute respectively. Meanwhile, West Ruimveldt crushed St Stephen 4-0.

Ashanna Rajkumar, Teneshia Persaud, Seona France and Rondella Anderson etched their names on the scorer’s sheet in the seventh, 11th, 15th and 24th minute respectively.

Similarly, St Pius dismissed Genesis 3-0. Christal Archer tallied a double in the 25th and 26th minute, while Ackelia Blake supported with a 31st minute effort.

Also, North Georgetown downed Tucville 2-0. Martha Chase bagged a double in the 11th and 26th minute.
