Vanguard volleyball club last evening served their way to championship honours in the Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) female first division tournament, played at the National Gymnasium.
Vanguard clinched the title by working their way past Castrol Volleyball in straight sets 25-19, 25-12, 25-16.
Castrol had earlier defeated Glasgow Rangers of Linden, the third place winners, 25-13, 25-22.
Meanwhile, the Young Achievers Volleyball Club have worked their way into the male final set to be played today at the same venue. Achievers will play the winners of the match between Castrol and Eagles.
Earlier in the day, Achievers defeated Bartica Warriors 25-23, 25-22, 25-11 en route to final while Castrol had also downed Warriors 25-12, 25-20, 25-15 to end their campaign without a win. (Royston Alkins)
