World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen retained his title in London, England, on Wednesday last, as he outplayed his worthwhile challenger Fabiano Caruana.
The classical games in the 12-game series were drawn, leaving the match in a stalemate. Classical games are the ones which give the players elaborate playing time. For example, the time control was 100 minutes for the first 40 moves, 50 minutes for the next 20 moves and 15 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move one.
