A 25-year-old Plaisance mother of three was yesterday remanded to prison for allegedly murdering her husband.
Melissa Playter was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which stated that she, on December 2, at Prince William Street, Plaisance, murdered Victor Roberts.
Facts in relation to the matter stated that on the day in question, at about 11 am, the two had an argument which resulted in Playter arming herself and stabbing Roberts in his neck.
Playter was remanded to prison and will make her next appearance at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on January 17, 2019.
Previous reports indicated that Roberts, 38, of Lot 41 Prince William Street, Plaisance, was stabbed to death during a domestic dispute.
Roberts was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
