Polemic is useful when it leads to positive outcomes, and I believe that my quarrel with Mr. Tacuma Ogunseye falls into this category. I now understand that he was not attempting to justify the government’s not proceeding with constitutional reform and shared governance but has merely shifted the venue of his struggle towards a more individual ‘interaction with activists and non-activists’.
In my most recent Future Notes, I stated that in modern party organisations members have a right, if not a duty, to chide their organisations for not behaving in a principled manner, and one must admit that on other issues Mr. Ogunseye has been regularly doing so in relation to the coalition. I had no idea that he is not only an important member of one of the parties in the group but is sufficiently close to coalition operations to be subjected to the kind of ‘collective responsibility’ that is constitutionally expected of a minister of government.
Tacuma, I was not attempting to get you to fight like me, only to fight, and now I know you are still there onwards to victory.
