Dear Editor,
The sound of the siren of the ambulance taking patients to the Supenaam Ferry Stelling and at times the speed boat stelling to be taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital has become all too familiar.
It is certainly time that the Ministry of Public Health does an upgrade of the Suddie Public Hospital and/or have more experienced and qualified doctors placed there. Over the years that institution has had the number of doctors increased but the quality of service apart from the foot care clinic and the ophthalmology department remains the same.
The public have been travelling regularly to the city to seek medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital and private medical institutions. The only increase we have is the amount of trips the ambulance makes to Georgetown and the referral of patients to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Yours faithfully,
Archie W Cordis
