(Trinidad Guardian) A Police Constable attached to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) is currently in police custody after being charged with two counts of common assault and obstruction of justice.
The Police Service said PC Angelo Cedeno, 40, was arrested and charged yesterday at the IATF Base following advice received from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, SC.
The charges arose from separate incidents which occurred between December, 2017 and November, 2018. PC Cedeno is alleged to have physically assaulted and threatened the lives of a woman and her son at gun point, at the victim’s home.
A report was made to the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB), which reportedly resulted in the accused repeatedly physically and verbally abusing the victim, and demanding that she drop the charges.
Charges were laid by acting Cpl Marshall, of the PSB, and enquiries are continuing
