Police in ‘B’ Division (Berbice) yesterday morning carried out a series of raids which led to the arrest of 15 persons, who are accused of rape, armed robbery and larceny.
Deputy Commander of ‘B’ Division Wayne De Hearte subsequently explained that the raids were conducted as part of the Guyana Police Force’s Christmas policing plan, which is currently being executed.
Stabroek News was told that the raids were carried out between 8 am and 10 pm yesterday and also led to the seizure of 13 grammes of cocaine at Plantation Ross, West Coast Berbice, an outboard engine, a laptop and three music boxes.
De Hearte stated that investigations are presently ongoing in relation to various matters against the persons arrested.
