The Stilt Sandpiper (Calidris himantopus or Micropalama himantopus) is a small shorebird. It is a long-distance migrant, wintering mainly in northern South America.
It has a curved bill, long neck, pale supercilium and white rump and long, pale legs.
The Stilt Sandpiper forages on muddy shores, picking up food by sight. It mainly eats insects and other invertebrates.
