Over 59 farmers and agro processors came out yesterday to be a part of the Guyana Marketing Corporation’s (GMC) Christmas Market Day activity at D’Urban Park, in Georgetown.
As part of the Agriculture Month activities, the GMC had hosted a Farmers’ Market Day in October, which, according to those who participated, yielded success.
The success was not only reported in sales but also in the linkages between suppliers and local buyers and other persons who expressed interest in purchasing farm fresh and agro-processed products.
It is from this standpoint that the GMC decided to host a Christmas Market Day, with a special focus on Christmas related agro-processed products, along with fresh fruits and vegetables, ground provision, seedlings and ducklings.
