Dear Editor,
Justices of the Peace and Commissioners of Oaths to Affidavits have been appointed by the government to serve in particular regions of Guyana.
Many of these J.P.’s and C.O.A’s who have been appointed to serve in Region 3 are operating in Region 4, Georgetown, which is illegal, since all J.P.’s and C.O.A’s were issued with an instrument of appointment for both functions in their respective Regions, so that they can carry out that mandate in their community in which they reside and their Region at large.
There are four such J.P.’s & C.O.A’s who have been sworn and appointed to function and serve in Region 3, but have offices at Maraj Building, Georgetown, in Region 4 where they operate on a daily basis. These J.P.’s are encouraging touting in the building, since they would sign and stamp (notarized) documents prepared by touts.
The authorities need to drive out these Region 3 J.P.’s who illegally operate in Region 4.
Yours faithfully,
