The Ministry of Public Security, together with the Guyana Police Force, have again announced that the 2 am curfew will once again be relaxed for the Christmas holidays.
The 2 am closing deadline is usually applied to bars, nightclubs and other places of entertainment, and is seen as a measure to curb drinking after certain hours.
However, according to a release, “Consequent upon an inundation of requests from businesses, Guyanese back home for the holidays, the general public and even senior public officials seeking to fully enjoy the Christmas Season,” the entities have taken the liberty to do away with the deadline for the remainder of the season.
