(Trinidad Guardian) A La Romaine man was shot dead not far from his home on Friday night.
He has been identified as Quillon Hudson, 30, of Pearl Street.
Police said around 10pm, Hudson was at the side of the road when a car pulled up alongside him and an occupant shot him. He was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he died.
Police said Hudson was not known to them. They have not yet ascertained a motive behind the shooting.
Officers of the San Fernando CID and the Homicide Bureau of Investigations are investigating.
In the second incident, police are investigating the stabbing death of Deshorn Parson, 17, of Fanny Village, Point Fortin.
Police say Parson was stabbed during an argument which broke out while he was liming with friends outside a bar early yesterday.
According to reports, around 2am some of Parson’s friends got into an argument with another group of men. During the argument, one man from the other group pulled out a knife and stabbed Parson and some of his other friends. The attacker fled the scene as parson’s friends rushed to assist him. A video of the incident which was posted to social media show his friends trying to keep him alive while awaiting an ambulance.
