A range of civil society groups today expressed deep concern over the political situation in the aftermath of the December 21, 2017 motion of no confidence.

A significant and broad-based body of Civil Society organisations met today and addressed their deep concern over the current political situation.
The meeting recognised that His Excellency President David Granger and Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo will be meeting on Wednesday January 9, 2019 and welcomed their expressed commitment to working together for the benefit of all of Guyana.
The meeting noted that Article 13 of the Constitution of Guyana establishes our Government as “an inclusive democracy…for the participation of citizens and their organisations in the management and decision making process of the State” and asks that their voices be heard accordingly.
