A food vendor was yesterday placed on bail after being charged with trafficking more than 100 grammes of cannabis.

It is alleged that Christopher Cummings, of 59 Tucville Housing Scheme, on January 11th, 2019 at Merriman Mall, Georgetown, had 109 grammes of cannabis in his possession for trafficking.

Cummings, who was represented by attorney Bernard DaSilva, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which was read to him by acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in Georgetown.

According to Prosecutor Quinn Harris, Cummings was arrested at the mall by plain clothes police, who acted on information received.

Cummings was granted his release on $100,000 bail on the condition that he reports to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters every Monday. His next hearing is set for January 28th, 2019.
