Dear Editor,
I learned with much intrigue by way of the Sunday, January 13, 2019 edition of the Kaieteur News that the Steering Committee of A New and United Guyana (ANUG) has recruited the membership of an individual named Kian Jabour.
Presumably ANUG will be campaigning for the support of Guyanese voters in the upcoming National elections so we voters have an associated entitlement to inquire about the backgrounds of these persons who will be deciding on the priorities of this organization and who will manage the course of its operations in an effort to form the Government of Guyana. Indeed the Party’s founder, Mr. Ralph Ramkarran and others stated as members of the Steering Committee need no introduction to the Guyanese public as they are accomplished individuals in their own right.
However, this brings me to ask of ANUG who exactly is Kian Jabour and what has this individual accomplished in his academic, professional or business career that ANUG presents him as an asset worthy of attracting the support of independent-minded voters?
I wish to share a bit of unsolicited advice to Messrs Ramkarran and Sankar, both gentlemen I happen to know, borrowed from the Playwright George Bernard Shaw who predicted “He knows nothing; and he thinks he knows everything. That points clearly to a political career.”
Yours faithfully,
George Bulkan
