McGill Super Stars Sports Club continued its superb run in the West Demerara Cricket Association tournament, booking a spot in the semi-final of the T20 tournament with a 36-run victory Sunday at the Zeeburg Ground.
Omesh XI won the toss and sent McGill into bat on a damp pitch.
They duly reached 153-9 from their allotted overs before dismissing Omesh XI for 118 in 12.2 overs.
McGill were 60-6 after 11 overs but Kheshram Seyhodan blasted five sixes and six fours in his innings of 79.
Seyhodan shared in a 57-run partnership with Daniel Basdeo (13) who was caught at deep mid-wicket while Seyhodan was bowled by Sheldon Johnson in the penultimate over.
Abdul Razack and Azar Deen chipped in with 14 runs each.
Nandalall Doodnarine took 2-7 from four overs while Ryan Ramlakan (2-27), Ricardo Adams (2-41) and Johnson (2-48) were the other wicket takers.
Seyhodan returned to rip through the batting order, ending with 5-34.
He took three wickets in his third over while Razack took 2-10 from 2.2 overs.
Mark Gonsalves stroked four boundaries while top scoring with 36 while Richard Ramdeen was left stranded on 28 not out after hitting four sixes. National player, Ricardo Adams managed only six runs before he was caught at point off the bowling of Deen his dismissal leaving Omesh XI struggling at 23-3.
